Leaving for the stars 14-31 but when I return, we should meet. If amenable, send me your phone in pvt message. My French is toddler level but I get by!
This really hit home. We’re spending three months in Provence, slow traveling and unlearning the need to rush. The long way has turned out to be the only way that feels like living. I used to chase productivity…now I follow light, wine, and whatever the day decides to offer.
Was just reading about your trip to Ireland, and realized this is you: one in the same! Making that transition from being productive to simply being takes a minute… and what a gift. ❤️
Yes — guilty as charged! Learning to swap “productive” for simply being has been the biggest transition and the biggest gift. Ireland was the perfect teacher — equal parts Guinness and rainbows. ❤️
Wonderfully evocative essay. Welcome to Substack. Do you know Melinda Blau? She lives in Paris, is a writer, has a Substack and a great new book “Wisdom Whisperers,” about her “old ladies” who enriched her life. She herself is 80, and I’m lucky enough to currently be one of her old ladies!
I am the aforementioned (by Patrica Ross) Melinda Blau! Loved reading this. I’m in the 7th. You?
Bonjour Melinda! I live in the 15th at metro Commerce… not far at all from the 7th.

Are you back Melinda?
Back in….Paris or NY
Paris…
I’m here until the 15th and will send you a pvt msg (if I can figure out how!) with cell#
